One day GO-NGO Partnership Workshop to develop GO-NGO Partnership in the States of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh

Workshops provided a platform for brining the State officials and the MNGO representatives working in the districts, face to face, with a view to discuss issues pertaining to sharing the responsibilities of service delivery in their un/underserved areas.

Participants included representatives for all MNGOs / FNGOs from the States of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

State officials from the Health and Family Welfare Department of Chhatisgrah, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra along with District Health Officers and Medical Officers provided valuable inputs and suggestions during the workshop.

Presentations were made by the respective MNGOs / FNGOs and Two Group Exercises were conducted on (1) Strengths and Weakness of the Government and NGOs and (2) Identification of un/underserved areas.

It was also agreed upon that focusing on one or two interventions would have a better impact than taking upon too many programmes.

Orientation  workshop on MNGO Revised NGO Guidelines for Newly selected Mother NGOs

   
  Newly selected Mother NGOs in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh were oriented on Revised NGO Guidelines.
   
 

 

 

Objectives of the Workshop:

Facilitate a common understanding of the revised guidelines for MNGOs, FNGOs, SNGOs with special reference to identification of un-served and underserved areas.

Clarify the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders.

Sensitize participants to NGO strengths and constraints.

identify areas for collaboration to effectively implement the revised guidelines.

   
 

A Five day workshop on “Revised NGO Guidelines” for 5 newly selected Mother NGOs of Madhya Pradesh was held in Bhopal during July 5-9, 2005.

10 participants from 5 MNGOs attended the training programme and were provided information on the Revised MNGOs Guidelines, clarity on the linkages with the State Policies, State PIP, NRHM & other relevant aspects of the MNGO scheme.

   
  21 newly selected Mother NGOs of Maharashtra were oriented on the Revised NGO guidelines in two batches in Pune.
 

 

   
 

 

As per the guidelines of the MNGO scheme, RRC FPA India conducted a three-days workshop on MNGO revised NGO guidelines for twenty one newly selected MNGO’s of Maharashtra at CIRT, Pune. Two participants from each MNGO were called for training in building their capacity to understand the Revised guidelines and MNGO scheme in RCH-II during the preparatory phase. The workshop also focused upon sensitizing the MNGO’s on the subjects of role of MNGO, Maharashtra indicators& health policy, fund flow and its various components.

   
 

                        

 
   
 

Workshop on Baseline Survey and Focus Group Discussion

   
  The basic objective of the workshop was to

Develop the skills of the MNGOs to coordinate Baseline Survey to be conducted by the FNGOs

Familiarize on the steps involved in preparing FNGO proposal and composite MNGO proposal

Develop an Action Plan to train FNGOs on conducting Baseline Survey and Community Planning.

MNGO Orientation Workshop on Baseline Survey & Project Proposal Development : A three-day workshop on Baseline Survey & Project Proposal Development was organized by RRC - FPA India at Ahmedabad, November 24-26, 2004 for 12 MNGOs who had received the preparatory fund of Rs. 1 Lakh.

A three-day workshop on Data Collection through Baseline Survey and Focus Group Discussions was organized by RRC, FPA India at Bhopal from March 17-19, 2005 for 8 MNGOs of Madhya Pradesh.

   
 

                        

 
   
 

Workshop on Baseline Survey, Data Entry and Analysis

   
 

RRC, FPA India dedicated team conducted a two day training workshop on Data Processing and Familiarization of the software package (developed by NIC, GoI) for all the 20 MNGOs of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in two batches during April 2005 at Pune.

   
 

                        

 
   
 

Workshop on Project Proposal Development

   
 

Workshop on Project Proposal Development was held by RRC, FPA India for the Mother NGOs of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

During both the workshops the capacity of the participants was built on developing the FNGO Project Proposal and Composite MNGO Project Proposal for setting priorities for action.

Two workshops with MNGOs of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra to advocate ICPD+10.

   
 

FPA India with support from the IPPF, South Asia Regional Office conducted two programmes for advocating ICPD+10 to sensitize the stakeholders on ICPD issues in relation to the RCH programme.

Workshop on “Interface with the Media on Population, Development & Gender” held on April 15, 2005 in Ahmedabad. The purpose of this workshop was to sensitize critical stakeholders and partners on ICPD+10 issues through the media. Eminent journalists and representatives from the print & TV media participated in the above workshop.

Workshop on “NGO and Media Advocacy Meet” held on April 20, 2005 in Mumbai. 15 participants from 9 MNGOs from Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh attended the above workshop and developed an Action plan for taking ICPD+10 forward.
